Problem

Gold Coast Fishing Charters is under new management, and the new owners saw the need for a new website! The new owners approached us a couple of weeks before Christmas and needed the new site done before the break! The existing website was outdated and not ranking well in leading search engine results (they were ranking on the third page for searches for 'Gold Coast Fishing Charters'). 

Objective

• Design a layout, look and feel that is professional, clean and unique. (We discovered a rather generic look and feel for most websites within the industry!)
• Build the new site on a simple to use content mangement system, to allow for editing of content and images.
• Have the entire project live within ONE WEEK!
• Improve search engine ranking.
• Increase website visitors and online enquiries.
• Integrate social media ie Facebook.

Solution

Hive.net.au collaborated with our graphic designer to produce a professional, clean, inviting and easy to navigate design and layout. We brought Gold Coast Fishing Charters into the Web 2.0 century and incorporated plenty of room for information and images.

We developed the site from the SilverStripe CMS platform, and deployed the contact form and image upload modules, integrated an engaging image slider and a dual navigation bar (to allow for site visitors to easily access the information they require). The SilverStripe CMS allows for the simple management of meta data, descriptions and keywords. This combined with submitting the website to the leading search engines provided for the site to be viewed as 'search engine friendly'.

Since going live, Hive.net.au has been managing search engine optimisation.

Results

The project was completed in one week as required (the Hive.net.au team didn't think it was possible) and the client has once again confirmed how easy the SilverStripe CMS is to use!

Without giving away our secrets, Hive.net.au has managed to get the following results since making the new Gold Coast Fishing Charters website live:

• 65% of site visitors are coming from search engines (we have bumped their ranking up greatly!); and
• 77% of site visitors are new!
